Bio
Joe Hamer is a partner at Whitaker & Hamer, PLLC, where he has been serving clients since the spring of 2013. Born and raised in Clayton, North Carolina, Joe continues to live there with his four children—Kamryn, Grover, Vinson, and Magnolia—on his family’s farm that has been in his family since the 1800s. The new Clayton office is even located in the childhood home of his great cousins, reflecting Joe’s deep roots in the community.
A standout student and athlete, Joe played basketball and football during high school. He graduated as valedictorian from Barton College in 2008, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, before attending the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. Joe passed the bar in 2011, all while navigating the challenges of being a new father, with his daughter Kamryn born that same year.
Joe is a die-hard Duke University and Carolina Panthers fan, staying loyal regardless of their records, and also enjoys rooting for the Carolina Hurricanes. Outside of his legal practice, he loves playing basketball, watching Duke sports, and riding his four-wheeler on his family’s farm.
