Whitaker & Hamer, PLLC is pleased to introduce our real estate-focused, AI-powered assistant, JARVIS . Some of you might have already interacted with JARVIS, Whitaker & Hamer’s 24/7 virtual real estate closing assistant. The firm is slowly introducing him, one real estate closing at a time. The firm has been building JARVIS over the past year with the assistance of a company that specializes in artificial intelligence.
JARVIS can give updates, deliver documents, collect information, and answer most client or agent questions throughout the closing process.

JARVIS is still learning, but he can already do a lot. Our real estate agents, lenders, sellers, and buyers can interact with JARVIS via text or our web-based chat widget. If you set up a closing with us, JARVIS will be contacting you and your client to collect information for closing.
Over the next few weeks, we will be posting sample conversations with Jarvis to help introduce everyone to the types of questions he can answer for our agents and our clients.

Rising Interest Rates & The Market
The real estate market has gone through several changes since COVID-19 started in early 2020. The market has been filled with buyers without enough homes on the market to accommodate them. The major recent change has been an increase in interest rates which has minimally limited buyers in the market.
In the previous year mortgage interest rates were less than 3.7% for basic home purchases, now interest rates for the same purchases are 5.6% to 6%. This jump has slowed the fast pace of the buyers’ market, but not necessarily for sellers. Buyers are still purchasing despite these high interest rates due to limited inventory. No matter the market, WH is here to get you to the closing table.
Even though the market has been up and down, Whitaker & Hamer has been paying attention. Once you get that contract to us, we do everything in our power to get your closing done in a timely manner. We also continue to help the community by working with Habitat of Humanity to get those lower interest rates through charity work.
Attorney Spotlight: Kimberly M. Lott
Kimberly Lott grew up on a horse farm in Indiana but has lived in North Carolina since middle school. She completed her junior and senior years of high school in Durham at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, where she currently volunteers.
She attended Duke University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology. Ms. Lott worked in the science, medical, and non-profit fields for several years before deciding to make a career change and become an attorney.
Like several of our attorneys, Kimberly attended Campbell University, Norman A. Wiggins School of Law.
Since graduation Kimberly managed her own law firm for several years and gained extensive experience in the courtroom. She likes to be involved in the community with groups like the Innocence Project and the educational philanthropy, PEO.
Kimberly is the proud parent to two children and currently planning her wedding. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, reading, cheering on her Blue Devils, and spending time with her family, friends, and her big fur daughter Macy.
Her co-workers would describe her as fun, quick-witted, and passionate about the law. She is a bright, energetic part of the law firm.
Kimberly focuses on criminal and family law, as well as civil litigation matters.
