Our Real Estate Networking Events, Attorney Spotlight, and More!

We are evolving and ready to serve!

As we have been growing and setting up new offices aross the state, we have also increased our presence in the communities in which we have offices. One of the ways we’ve done this is our marketing and networking events with our real estate agents, lenders, and title companies!

Motto: Your law firm for life! Our new changes are only helping us to stay true to this!

One of the most amazing things going on at the firm is our regular networking events. Our first networking even after COVID-19 was held at Shady’s on September 23, 2021. This was our first crack at the informal networking in-person event since the pandemic brought these to a halt.

Our next one was held in November 18, 2021 where we saw a larger turn out and new faces. The most recent event was held on February 4, 2022 at Shady’s. The marketing team was thrilled to crown this our biggest real estate event to date for the firm. Over 70 real estate agents were in attendance, along with local lenders, who came out to meet the Whitaker & Hamer team, network with other agents, and enjoy music provided by our favorite DJ, DJ Youngsoul.

The informal networking events have been the dream of Attorney Scruggs-Smith who organized our first event in September of last year and help continue to push these events in particular in her closings. We are happy to see these grow and create a better opportunity for real estate professionals to connect without pressure or formality. In the meantime, be sure to save the date for our next real estate appreciation event which will be coming to Fuquay-Varina on March 25^th. We can’t wait to see you there and connect on how we can partner together moving forward!

Completed Renovations in our Fuquay-Varina Office

Same space, fresh look

New to some and old to others is our wonderful Fuquay Varina office. The Fuquay office is near downtown Fuquay and has received some touch ups to make the office even better for our clients.

The recent renovations include additional conference room space to be able to sit with sellers, buyers and even clients for estate planning and will consultations. Come check out the new look of our Fuquay office today.

Judica County Podcast

WH produces it’s very own video podcast. Judica County is hosted by Attorney Josh Whitaker. The podcast is meant to discuss common legal issues that our clients may find helpful.

Attorney Spotlight: Taylor Scruggs-Smith

One of our family law and real estate law attorneys.

Originally from the DC Metro area, Taylor relocated to North Carolina in 2011 for school though she still has great pride for her hometown in Prince George’s County in Maryland. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Campbell University in 2015 and continued straight into law school in Raliegh also with Campbell University. She received her JD in 2018 and passed the North Carolina Bar in February 2019.

Attorney Scruggs-Smith has been with Whitaker & Hamer, PLLC for over two years now. She focuses her practice on family law although she assists greatly with real estate transactions coming through our various offices. Taylor Typically works out of our Garner office though she travels to Raleigh and Fuquay-Varina as well. You may also find her at our events as she is heavily involved in the firm’s marketing.

When not working, Taylor can be found with either a supernatural mystery book in her hands or attached to Disney+ watching classic Disney movies. Taylor prides herself as one of Disney’s biggest fans and will most definitely let you know some fun facts about the entertainment company.

Additionally, Taylor loves dogs and is a big advocate for animal rescue. She has her own pup names Luna and is always looking for a way to get the firm involved in supporting local animal rescues as a way to give back to her community.
